Principal & Directors
Miss Claire - BDPA Director & Principal
Claire founded Base Dance Performing Arts Academy (BDPA) in 2008 with a simple goal, to share her love of dance and create a place where young people can grow in confidence, skill, and community. With over 30 years of experience, Claire is a qualified teacher and GCSE Dance tutor, educated across multiple dance genres, acrobatics/hoop, and cheerleading. She is passionate about seeing every student progress, while also training teachers, mentoring her staff and continuing her own learning.
Outside of the studio, Claire volunteers as a Police Cadet Leader for Lancashire Constabulary, where she helps young people develop life skills and confidence beyond the world of dance.
For Claire, BDPA is more than a studio, it’s a family where achievements are celebrated, friendships are built, and every dancer has the chance to shine.

Miss Beth
I’ve been dancing for over 20 years, and it’s been the biggest joy of my life. From performing on national stages to teaching in the studio, dance has taken me so many places and introduced me to incredible people along the way. I love sharing not just the technique, but also the energy and fun that comes with moving to music and telling stories through dance. Teaching has been especially rewarding, helping dancers of all levels grow more confident and expressive is something I’ll never get tired of. Now, I’m so excited to be starting this new adventure with BASE! I can’t wait to bring my experience, creativity, and love for dance into this next chapter.
