Hello everyone,
2026 and the new term are finally here, and what a brilliant start it’s been! 💜
It’s been amazing to see new and returning dancers settling into classes, making progress, and bringing so much energy and joy into the studio. We’re so proud of how everyone has started the year.
As we head into this new term, this newsletter will keep you up to date with everything happening at BDPA — from key dates and upcoming events, to holiday activities and reminders for the weeks ahead.

Uniform Reminders!
As the colder months are here, dancers must arrive and leave in BDPA warm-ups — this includes a BDPA T-shirt, hoodie, and plain black joggers/Leggings, with their leotard/tights (or other relevant class uniform) worn underneath. Once dancers are fully warmed up in class, they’ll be asked to remove their warm layers, but must put them back on before heading home.

Child Protection Policy (Spring '26) 👧🏼
As the nights are now darker earlier:
- All primary-aged children must be collected from inside the building.
- Staff will not allow children to leave the classroom without an adult present.
- Senior students may leave on their own, but please remind them that if a parent/guardian isn’t outside, they must return inside the building and wait with staff.

Over the festive break, we received the most magical news…
Our Disney Troupe auditioned to perform at Disneyland Paris, and they’ve been ACCEPTED!
We are beyond proud of these dancers for their hard work, commitment, and belief in themselves. What an incredible opportunity and memory in the making

We just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU to all of you for helping to make 2025 so special at Base Dance! Bring on 2026!
We're thrilled to share that our 2026 annual show will be called "Disney Dreams: Park to Park", in celebration of our trip to perform at Disneyland Paris next year! Mark your calendars: show dates are the 11th & 12th of July.
Mark your calendars! After the huge success of our Winter Aerial Hoop Showcase, our next one - themed to The Secret Garden - will be taking place on Tuesday March 24th, next half term. See you then!
We couldn't be prouder to share that ALL THREE of our Cheerleading Squad teams - Shimmer, Sparkle & Shine - came in FIRST PLACE in their respective categories at the Christmas ICE Breaker Cheerleading Champs back on December 13th!
Starlight also got the Judge's Standout Choice Award!
Amazing work from our cheerleading coaches Nikki & Sophie, and incredible work from our cheerleading athletes! We're so proud!
We also wanted to say a huge congratulations to all of our amazing dancers who took their NPAA exams with us in December. You were incredible and we can't wait for the Awards Presentation on Jan 31st!
GCSE Dance at BDPA - register interest!
We’re excited to be exploring another GCSE Dance (AQA) course starting in September 2026.
We’ve successfully run cohorts since 2016 and can only offer this every two years, so this is the main opportunity to enrol.
📌 Key Info:
- Limited places available
- Minimum numbers required to run the course
- Priority given to BDPA students before opening to the public
- Open to students in Years 9 & 10 (Sept 2026)
