Check in with our team and let us know about any medication, additional needs or information that will help your child.
Meet the teacher
Your child will be introduced to their teacher and may be paired with a friendly class buddy to help them settle.
Join the class
Sessions normally include a warm-up, technique, skill development, creative exercises and a cool-down.
Safe collection
At the end of class, younger children are released to their parent or named guardian at the studio door.
Waiting during the trial
Our arrangements help children focus, build confidence and enjoy their class in a safe environment.
Please stay on-site
For Tots, Minis and primary-aged children, a parent or carer should remain on-site during the first trial class.
Use our café area
Parents are welcome to wait in our café and waiting area, where free Wi-Fi is available.
Studios are spectator-free
Parents do not watch from inside the studio. This supports safeguarding, reduces distractions and helps children settle.
Feeling nervous is completely normal
Starting a new class can feel like a big step. Our teachers and assistants are experienced in gently supporting nervous children and helping them join in at their own pace.
- Keep goodbyes positive, cheerful and brief
- Tell us if your child already knows someone in the class
- Share any useful settling or communication strategies
- Allow our team to encourage them without pressure
- Trust that we will come and find you if they need you
At the end of class
Please check the class finish time and be ready to collect your child promptly.
Call 01704 897789Early years and primary-aged children are released to their parent, carer or named guardian at the studio door unless a different arrangement has been agreed.
Please make sure the teacher can clearly see who is collecting your child.
Secondary-school-aged students may arrive and leave independently where this has been agreed by their parent or carer.
Students should not wait alone in the car park and should remain inside the building until their lift has arrived.
Delays sometimes happen. Please call us as soon as possible on 01704 897789 so we know you are on your way.
Your child will remain safely supervised with the studio or welcome desk team until you arrive.
Teachers are happy to provide brief feedback or answer a quick question after class, but many teach consecutive sessions and must continue supervising students.
For a longer conversation, contact the welcome desk or email info@base-dance.com so a suitable time can be arranged.
