About Base Dance
Base Dance is a welcoming, community-focused dance studio based in Burscough, near Ormskirk, Lancashire. We've been proudly training students since 2008, offering high-quality dance education in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Our classes cater to all ages and abilities, whether you’re dancing for fun, performance, competitions, or qualifications like subject exams and GCSE Dance. We believe in guiding each individual at their own pace, with no pressure to go professional, just a focus on progress, enjoyment, and growth.
Our Principal is a qualified teacher and examiner who has walked the same path many of our students now begin. From first steps to leaving a legacy, we’re here every step of the way.

How do we work
1. Book a Trial
Start by choosing your child’s age group and booking a trial class. This gives them a chance to settle in, meet the teacher, and try the class before committing.
2. We Help You Settle In
Our friendly team will greet you when you arrive. We’ll show you around, answer your questions, and make sure your child feels comfortable from the moment they walk through the door.
3. Join the Base Family
If your child loves the class, you can sign up easily online. We’ll give you everything you need – class info, uniforms, key dates – and keep in touch throughout the year.
4. Grow, Dance & Shine
Whether your dancer attends once a week or dives into all we offer, they’ll be supported every step of the way. We celebrate progress, encourage confidence, and cheer each other on.

๏ปฟ(Ages 3–4 Early Years & Reception)
From twirling in tutus to tumbling with joy, our Base Tots classes are full of imagination, energy, and confidence-building fun.
Classes include:

๐ Base Minis (Ages 5–7 — School Years 1 & 2)
Big steps for little dancers! Our Base Minis develop strong skills while having a blast learning routines, tumbling, leaping, and expressing themselves through movement.

- Cheerleading
- Acro
- Contemporary Dance
- Street Dance
- Ballet, Tap & Jazz
๐ Base NextGen (Ages 8–12 — School Years 3–7)
A chance to fly – literally! Our NextGen dancers dive into exciting new skills, explore different styles, and grow stronger as performers and teammates.
Classes include:
- Aerial Hoop
- Cheerleading
- Acrobatics
- Contemporary Dance
- Street Dance
- Ballet, Tap & Jazz

Ignite is where dancers begin to truly shine. Our teen dancers develop performance quality, refine technique, and gain confidence to express themselves in a powerful way.

๐ Base Legacy (Ages 15+ — School Year 10, College, Sixth Form & Uni)
Legacy dancers are the leaders of our studio – role models and artists in the making. With performance-focused classes, industry-style training, and tons of opportunity, this is where passion becomes purpose.

- Street / Commercial Dance
- Commercial Heels (College / 16+)

Every year, our dancers take part in a professionally staged annual show, giving them the chance to shine in costume, under the lights, in front of their biggest fans – their families!

We offer optional dance exams for children who want to work toward goals and receive recognition. All students are supported, and our focus is always on confidence, not pressure.
Holiday Camps
We run fun, themed camps during every school holiday. Expect dancing, games, crafts, challenges, and loads of laughs. Open to both Base students and non-members!

For those who want more, we offer exciting opportunities to compete, perform, and be part of our growing teams. It’s about commitment, community, and celebrating progress — not just prizes.

Our dancers will be performing on a Disney® stage in August 2026 – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity filled with magic, memories, and movement.
